Deciding to take a vacation is an exciting experience, but along with the excitement, there is some stress in deciding how to travel, where to visit, and where to stay. There are so many options available today, with so many people giving us ideas and suggestions. It seems that everyone has a different opinion on where to go and where to stay while traveling. Your vacation can either be more memorable or completely ruined by where you decide to lodge, so it truly is worth thinking about.

Jerusalem and the surrounding areas offer such a wide variety of hotels that one needs to take the time to consider the different options, do some research and only then make a decision. There are many things to consider and although the cost is important, you have to decide what is most important to you. Oftentimes, we are willing to pay a little more when we realize the extras that we will get.

For example, one Jerusalem hotel may be in a very old building and you prefer a newer facility. Or perhaps you want to be right in the heart of the old city. Some hotels are located there, while others are in the more modern section of Jerusalem. Another factor to consider is the size of the hotel and its rooms. Some people like a quainter atmosphere, with a more family type feeling, while others enjoy a larger hotel with spacious rooms. It’s no surprise that travel is expensive, so cost is an issue because we want to use our money wisely.

Some of the hotels in Israel, such as the Addar Hotel Jerusalem, are in older buildings. Your Israel experience will be even richer, as this unique architecture will take you back in time. The Addar Hotel is within walking distance of the Old City of Jerusalem and the main attractions of Jerusalem. This hotel is smaller, with only thirty guest rooms, creating a homier feeling. This historic 19th century building is family owned and run and is available for a modest cost.

If you want to enjoy Israel’s other beautiful areas, you might consider the Royal Hotel Dead Sea. This motel is a more modern facility with a total of 420 rooms and suites. With a ninety minute drive from the Ben Gurion Airport, this fine hotel is close to a central bathing beach every room offers a spectacular view of the Dead Sea. Although this hotel is more expensive, they offer a fitness center, spa, restaurants, sports bar, synagogue, outdoor pool and other luxuries. Tourists are offered much at this magnificent hotel in the Dead Sea.

You might want to consider the American Colony Hotel if you are interested in a larger hotel in Jerusalem. It is designed with classic Arabian arches, built over 120 years ago. Only a ten minute walk from the Old City of Jerusalem, this hotel is within walking distance from all the major sights. It is also only 45 minutes from the Ben Gurion Airport, right outside Tel Aviv. This is a moderate sized hotel with 85 guest rooms, a heated pool, fitness center and sauna. Because of these luxuries, the price is a little higher, but well worth it to the tourist who is looking for an authentic Israel experience.

If you are looking for a less expensive motel that is not right in Jerusalem, you will want to consider the Almog Kibbutz Dead Sea Hotel. Located near the Dead Sea, this small hotel offers 35 economy rooms that will lodge two people and 15 superior rooms for lodging families or groups of four people. This unique hotel offers a kosher Israeli breakfast to its guests and is only 25 minutes from the city of Jerusalem. This hotel is a great place to stay if you prefer a more quiet and simple setting at a cheaper rate.

There is a huge variety of hotels in the city of Jerusalem and the areas surrounding it. Each one is unique in its own way; giving tourists the opportunity to decide which hotel best suits their needs. You will find an exciting, educational and refreshing vacation in Israel, regardless of where you decide to lodge.
