There are many reasons an individual may consider ordering a U S passport online. One may be the ease in which this may be accomplished by doing a brief search and finding many different providers of passport services on the Internet. This allows one to make an intelligent decision on who offers the best price for expediting and securing a passport is short order.

One of the most frustrating things that anyone can go through when they are in a rush is being forced to wait in a line. The Internet has pretty much done away with that and the only time that adults will really be forced to wait in line is if they are getting their passports for the first time. Instead, they can get online and have everything done with a few clicks of the mouse.

Anyone that can do some basic research will have no problems getting their passport online. If they do run into problems, most sites will either have chat option or a toll free number that can be used to help guide the applicant through the process. In all honesty, if a site does not have these features in place, it is probably best to look elsewhere for services.

The forms can be downloaded right off the government sites and are pretty easy to fill out. Any questions can be answered via the FAQ that is located right on the site itself. If the applicant is going to use one of the expedited online services, they may actually fill out the forms for them. This makes the process even easier.

After filling out all of the forms, they will have to be printed. Make sure there is plain, letter sized paper in the printer and that that it does not have any kind of coating. That glossy baby blue paper that your daughter likes to use for her homemade cards won’t cut it. Anything but plain paper will be refused by the passport agency.

The photographs must be two inches by two inches and in full color. Black and white photos are not considered acceptable along with one taken in a photo booth, such as the ones found in malls around the country. These pictures will need to be taken by someone who understands what a passport photo is and there are many providers of this service to be found locally.

Once everything on the list is gathered, the items can be sent out to the service. Choosing anything other than an overnight service is foolish. It would be nice to think that standard mail would do the trick, but we have all fallen victim to the missing mail syndrome. Play it safe and pay the extra few dollars for the overnight service so delivery is guaranteed and all documents can be tracked.

Granted, ordering a passport online still requires some running around, but at least the passport office is avoided. The real value of these services is the fact that the actual turnaround of the passport is much quicker. Even expedited service through the regular U.S. passports office will take about three weeks. The online passport services can have the passport in hand in just a few days.
